Art Stone Memorials in Main Street, Stapenhill, have stepped up their support for a local Christmas gift initiative this year – providing space in their showroom for people to drop off presents that will be distributed to local children in need.
Derek’s Tree Burton-on-Trent collect presents every year for hundreds of disadvantaged children with benefactors choosing a wish list gift tag and then buying what the child has requested.
Art Stone Memorials showroom manager Amy Lamb and her family have been long-time supporters of the popular initiative and has this year become a collection point for gifts which will be distributed by the charity and also through the annual Santa Bike Run which will this year take place on December 9.
Amy said: “As a company, we are committed to supporting our local community and this is a very worthy cause – to help put a smile on children’s faces at what should be a magical time of year for every child.
“The Christmas present wish list has grown every year and really helps those most in need so I am delighted that we are able to offer our support this year.”
The young recipients of Christmas gifts are all referred by schools, charities and organisations and many are also provided with essential items at other times in the year.
